Taurus Horoscope for April 2012

Sometimes life has an elegant poetry about it, and you are about to see proof of this later this month. As April begins, however, you may think I have raised your expectations and that nothing is going quite right. That's only temporary, because admittedly, the first half of April will be a bit off. As soon as we all get through two difficult aspects, life will improve in a very dramatic way.

There will be two problem points, the first being April 6, the full moon in Libra, 17 degrees, lighting your sixth house of work and health. A work project will need to come to a finish to meet a deadline (within four days of this date), making everyone near you tense. There will be too much to do and too little time to get it all done. Pluto will be in hard angle to this full moon, so a legal matter may become troublesome, or it may be that people based overseas (or at a distance) may become demanding or require a lot of time-consuming customs or other government paperwork. Citizenship issues won't proceed easily. If you work in the media as a journalist or producer, expect your story to need more information, more digging, and a lot of last minute attention. Protect your health, as this full moon seems to be very draining. Later, once the Sun is in Taurus, you will feel an immediate lift in your health.

Last month was difficult because Mercury was retrograde but now will go direct on April 4. Mercury is the planet of thinking, planning, perception, speaking, writing, and all communication, and so when it's out of phase, we all suffer, for all these areas go a bit haywire. People become indecisive, forgetful, and hard to reach. We hear of postponements, cancellations, and lost items, or items that need repair. What we can't see is that Mercury retrograde periods signal a change up ahead on the road of life and that conditions that were fixed are in flux. If you made a decision in the past three weeks, since March 12, chances are, you will have to change things again later. Now that Mercury turns direct on April 4, you will still need to leave a little space beyond that date, as no planet normalizes instantly. There is another reason to wait - you need Mars in good condition, too.

Mars will also go out of retrograde to direct, April 13, and having Mars moving swiftly may be equal to or even MORE important than Mercury to the success of your venture. Mars acts as the booster rocket to all that you do, and when Mars shuts down to sleep, everything seems to move to a crawl. New projects seem to lack enthusiasm and oomph, so necessary to make a big success. You saw firsthand how hard it was to make progress since the date Mars turned retrograde, January 23. Mars is now moving forward in your true love sector, after almost three months of being a little dizzy and sleepy, so Mars getting his act together is great news. From now on, Mars can be helpful to you in finding the right person for you, or in getting more attention from the one you love.

Still, don't rush to do anything important, not immediately after April 13 appears, because we still have to get beyond one of the toughest days of the year, Sunday, April 15. That is when Saturn will oppose the Sun - add two days plus or minus to this day. The Sun brings warmth, growth, and enthusiasm but Saturn, as a cold, frozen planet, brings a cautious and constricting influence. If you initiate an important venture or relationship on or within two days of this date, April 15, profits will be low or even create a loss (never music to the ears of a savvy financially-oriented Taurus). I have also found this aspect to bring criticism that is very hard to hear. Happily, once you get to April 17, you're done and life normalizes. Take any feedback you get (or don't get) to improve your performance, but don't let anyone's words take away your confidence.

Hang in there! Now I have all the really fantastic news for you!

Once the new moon appears on April 21 in Taurus at 2 degrees, you will be in your glory. The month will change tone, and instantly, you will feel the electricity and happy vibe in the air. This new moon forms a stunning display of harmony, linking Mars in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn, and Neptune in Pisces. Mars will increase your creativity enormously, and Pluto will bring good news to an area you may have had a few problems with earlier, at the full moon (April 6) - namely, a legal matter, publishing / broadcasting project, matters relating to academia and the pursuit of higher education, international relations and citizenship-work issues, import-export, and overseas travel. (Those are all very exciting areas!)

If your birthday falls on or near (within five days) this new moon April 21, it will be doubly potent for you. In your case, you will have won the cosmic jackpot! But even if your birthday does not fall at this time of the month, if you have planets at or near 2 degrees Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio, you will still benefit.

The excellence of your new moon is why I need you to wait until April 21 to sign your contracts and give a handshake - you will be giving your new venture all the goodness it needs to ensure its success. This new moon is one of the sweetest I've seen in a long time, and if you can, use it to initiate a new venture or relationship or any dream that is dear to you.

In terms of your finances, you will benefit now that Venus in Gemini. Venus is associated with money but is also your ruler, so there are two reasons you should feel positive about seeing your fortunes rise. Venus will move into Gemini on April 3 until August 7, a very long time. Still, try to wrap up all your most important financial deals in late April or early May, as Venus will retrograde from May 15 to June 27. This is rare - Venus doesn't often go out of phase, but when she does, Venus can hold up payments and investments, and put roadblocks in the path of your progress. It's only a six-week retrograde, but because you have the ideal new moon in Taurus on April 21, why not use it so that you can avoid the Venus retrograde period May 15 to June 27?

Jupiter is moving through Taurus from 13 to 20 degrees. This means if your birthday falls on any day from May 2 to May 10, you will be outstandingly lucky in April. This is a rare influence, and won't be repeated until 2023! Jupiter will have many gifts to shower over you! You can now enjoy FAR better health, feel more optimistic, enjoy international travel, and be presented with one or two superb career deals. If there is anyone important you need to see to make your dream a reality, you must plan to do so from April 21-30 for best luck.

Especially when it comes to love, all conditions are ideal for you to meet the person who is exactly right for you. Jupiter is orbiting near your Sun, protecting your interests, and will act like a little matchmaker to help you find the love you deserve. The ancient astrologers felt that when Jupiter is in your sign, that is the best, most auspicious placement for any planet to be to cause a meeting of one's true love. On top of this, Mars is in your house of love (and no longer retrograde), and Mercury now in strong shape too, improving communication, a cornerstone of all relationships, and also increasing your odds of success. Dear Taurus, all the planets are speaking very clearly now - you can find love! Good fortune Jupiter will remain in Taurus only until June 11, so circulate as much as possible. If you are attached, you, too, will do well. You will find ways to grow closer to your partner, and you may want to travel internationally together. Were you thinking of taking a vacation for your birthday? Single or attached, that would be a great idea! In late April, go!

When it comes to love and fun, the weekend of April 21-22 shines for romance, for Neptune, now in Pisces, will be in perfect angle to the Sun and moon, and bring friends and a glamorous event to look forward to. Jupiter will greet the moon in Taurus on Sunday, April 22, adding a tough of luxury and pampering.

Your weekend joy will roll into Monday, April 23, when the Sun and Mars in high key romantic positions will combine energies in a magical way. This day sets your romantic life on fire, and also will have the power to light your imagination in ways you've rarely seen. You can use this day for creative, artistic expression, or love, or both. Truly, this will be one of those times when you get a double dip of happiness.

There is a day earlier in the month that could bring Cupid's arrow, just when you have no thoughts it could ever happen - Sunday, April 8, when Venus and Uranus trade happy signals. You will feel the glow as early as Saturday evening, so this makes the first weekend of the month special, especially if you are single and hoping to find love. Venus will be in Gemini, and Uranus, behind the scenes, suggesting that a short trip - or even a trip abound your neighborhood - could summon love to you. It's also possible an arranged date could work out exceptionally well at this time. Venus is your guardian planet, and when so perfectly angled to Uranus, planet of surprise, anything is possible!

Dear Taurus, are you excited yet? You should be! When have I ever sounded this excited about romance, travel, health, career, and money? You seem to have it all! Go out in the world and find out all the goodies that are there for you!

Summary

Your time has come, dear Taurus, but you won't see just how outstandingly lucky you will be immediately - that will come in the last ten days of April. The first part of April will be quiet. In the first two weeks, Mars will continue to be retrograde, a situation that has been going on since late January. Because Mars is considered the booster rocket to all important ventures and relationships, this means you'll feel more of the same slow pace you've noticed since end of January.

The way to use the first part of the month productively, during the time Mars is still out of phase, is to think deeply about what you hope to accomplish during the first part of 2012, while you have the advantage of Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, in Taurus. Jupiter is now orbiting in fine form, and is standing ready to help you on every level. Jupiter can help you get into offices of high level executives that would have been impossible before Jupiter opened these gates. Make an attempt to get in and you will see how much easier it is for you now compared to times you've tried in the past.

Furthermore, these VIPs will want to help you, so have an answer ready when asked how this executive can help you. The clearer you can articulate your aims, the more likely you will get the support you need. Jupiter may also have you traveling, very possibly internationally, for this planet of expansiveness will work to open up your worldview, too.

Jupiter will leave Taurus on June 11, so as soon as Mars turns speedy direct motion on April 13, you will need to be ready to make some important moves a week later. Influential people in power will soon ask you how they can help you. In love, you have some of the best prospects possible, but you need to do your part by circulating and showing a willingness to meet new people.

Until Mars goes direct, April 13, bide your time - you need the booster action of Mars to give your projects proper lift off, and even your closest relationship will go better later in the month. Give Mars a few days after April 13. April 15 is due to be one of the toughest days of the year, as Saturn will oppose the Sun. Your health may flag, or a home matter may concern you. At work, projects may mount, and you may suddenly feel overwhelmed. This heavy cloud cover will soon move out, so do your best to cope within the few days surrounding April 15.

Your big moment will come on April 21, when the new moon in Taurus will appear in the heavens and summon you to reach for the stars. You will find yourself within a very potent period, ideal for taking first steps toward any dream that is dear to you, in any area. The closer your birthday falls on April 21, the more support you will receive. More goodies are due early next month, so stay optimistic. Your time has come. This means that you will have an advantage in just about every area of life. This may be a small window of time, but it is a brilliant one, extending from April 21 to June 11, when Jupiter will leave Taurus. Later you will see enormous financial rewards from the actions you are taking now. Be optimistic! It's wonderful to be a Taurus!

The new moon in your sign, Taurus, will occur on April 21. In the two weeks that follow, you will have an opportunity to get closer to a dream.

A social event over April 21-22 should be magical, thanks to Neptune's communication to the Sun.

A Letter to My Readers From Susan Miller

A New Title to My Book, "The Year Ahead 2012 and Beyond"

The great sportswriter, Red Smith, once said, "There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." Now we use computers to write, but the experience the same. Anyone who has ever written a book will agree, it's hard work, but ultimately the most satisfying work you could do on earth. I love to write.

I listened to all you had to say about last year's book. You wanted more pages. You wanted an annex on the nuances of Mercury Retrograde and also on How to Deal with Eclipses. I read what I had written before and that I had posted for you on my site, and those chapters were not good enough. I ripped those chapters apart and added a lot of new material in each. I added a short piece on December 21, 2012, which is the end date of the Mayan calendar and also addressed the controversy about whether you are the sign you think you are (yes), and also addressed whether there is another thirteenth sign (no), and explained why I feel the way I do.

When I was working on each of the signs, I saw that Jupiter would move into Gemini mid-year, to stay until the middle of 2013. When Neptune moved into Pisces on February 3, 2012, this year, this planet of imagination was to stay in Pisces for fourteen years, until January 26, 2026. When Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, Pluto was prepared to stay - and work on our attitudes toward money - until 2024. Uranus entered Aries last March 11, 2012, to stay until March 6, 2019. Saturn is to move into Scorpio on October 4, 2012, this year, to stay until September 17, 2015. Not all years are the same. As I wrote, I realized in 2012 we were in a year of exceptional change, and each of us was about to transverse from one shore to another. As we gradually cross that bridge, we all would be in the process of saying goodbye to much of our past and walking bravely toward a very new future. It took me time to make sense of all this planetary traffic. Not all signs would feel the shifts of all the planets. For example, Aquarius would feel the move of Uranus to Aries very directly (as Uranus is this sign's ruler), but not be as affected by Pluto in Capricorn. I wanted to pinpoint what was new and fresh with the times we were living in, for no one wants a rerun of past years - and happily I found plenty of evidence of that.

As I wrote, I asked my publisher that we change the name of my book, from the "Year Ahead 2012" to the "Year Ahead 2012 and Beyond." I was spending time looking ahead, and discussing the change in attitude and societal shift some of these planets would have, but I also wanted to look back, to show you where you've been. You are never born brand new into any emerging year, of course, for you bring joys, disappointments, fears, victories, dreams, and a host of experiences and emotions with you into the New Year. Those have to be acknowledged too, so I worked hard at not just trying to walk in your shoes but to actually become you as I wrote, and to see the world as you do, through your eyes, in the light of all your recent experiences as told to me by the planet's positions.

I feel being active on Twitter has made me a better astrologer. I read your posts, and because tweets are short, I can see a great many of your thoughts and experiences. Writing my Year Ahead 2012 Illustrated Calendar (with fine artist Gloria Vanderbilt's work) was a good way for me to carefully study the year's details. I had to first memorize all the planetary positions, and like a forensic scientist see how the planets interconnected with one another to create change.

I saw, for example, that Jupiter was going into Gemini, and that the eclipses in Gemini-Sagittarius this year were destined to speed the progress of Jupiter's good work. New eclipses in the family of Scorpio-Taurus would later work with Saturn, once he moves into Scorpio in October. Uranus and Pluto meanwhile will work to give birth to a new world order. I had discussed that in my essay in my Year Ahead 2012 Calendar, and I don't use the same essays in the book and the calendar. In the front of my book, I hope you will see the essays I wrote on the feel of the year, and how it differs from last year. All kinds of connections were occurring to me, as I saw how the planets were working, not independently, but inter-dependently, to sweep out the old and outmoded, and to bring light to areas of society that need to be addressed.

This week, I will be writing the chapter on Pisces, my last chapter of the book. After that, the book will be done. Each chapter is massive, at least four times or more of the size you are used to seeing in Astrology Zone. We are attempting to put my work into your hands by the new moon April 21, at least digitally. Kindle and Nook will be the first to publish the book, and we are working with a new content manager at Apple, and hope we won't suffer the delays that we had on the iPad last year due to the way manuscripts move through the publication process at Apple. We are learning.

My publisher, Arthur Heydendael, is printing a traditional paper book very quickly. Creative director Jackie Meyer, the former Creative Director of Warner Books, is laying out the quality paperback version of my book. Jackie did the layout of all my calendars and also designed my book last year. I hope you will keep this year's book, as some of the material will be relevant to you in years to come.

I deeply appreciate your patience and support. Writing a book would be a tad easier if I weren't writing 45,000 words for Astrology Zone each month, but I love writing my forecasts for you each month, and I am cheered by knowing that at least you have had all the information you have needed as you awaited the finish of my book.

Discover your rising sign, the most important element to learn!
