Leo Horoscope for May 2012

Success is never easy, but when you have the entire force of the universe behind you, it not only becomes possible but likely! Get ready for that lucky break you've needed to get to the next level in your career. Whether you work for a large company, or are self-employed, it doesn't matter - every Leo will partake of this glittering set of planetary aspects now. Last month, on April 21, you had one of the most important new moons of the year for your career, dear Leo. It fell in Taurus, and it lit your house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame. As you enter May, that new moon will still be showering you with her beneficial rays, so if you interview for that top position or pitch business / funding for a creative idea, your timing will be perfect.

The whole first half of May brings a sensational opportunity for career progress. It is imperative that you continue to plant seeds in early May because you won't have a month this strong again for advancing your professional interests again this year. There is one set of dates I want you to pay special attention to this month, and those are so golden for you, the news I have will make you very happy! Here they are:

Watch May 12 and 13, two of the very luckiest days of the year! Wow! The great benefic, Jupiter, will conjunct the Sun, giver of life and strength, on those precise days. Each year Jupiter and the Sun meet for lunch on your behalf, so it's always a very exciting day. Each year, like typical old buddies, they choose another part of the chart in which to meet - it's a little like changing restaurants, but in this case these two highly influential mucky-mucks will bring along their considerable power and might, and they are meeting in your tenth house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame!

Now those days are weekend dates, but don't be blue - you can VERY successfully use Thursday, May 10 and Friday, May 11 too, as those days are the ones approaching the peak of this aspect, and therefore they will be equally powerful. You can use Monday, May 14, too, but that date will be slightly less strong, because Jupiter and the Sun will be separating by then and starting to weaken. You can go earlier, to May 9, but not any earlier than that. These luckiest days of the year will be happy for everyone but doubly so for you, as the Sun, part of the configuration, is your ruling star. This will be your moment to shine, dear Leo, for this will occur at the very top of your chart, rinsing the entire chart in golden light.

If you need to sign a contact on May 10, 11, 12, or 13, do so. You may be given papers to sign on May 5, but I am concerned about an aspect that will occur then, namely, Mercury opposed to Saturn, considered a poor time to give final word or sign a contact on just about any matter, but especially one that involves money. (This is because Mercury rules your solar second house of personal resources). If you need to give your final word on a new job offer, or a sale or lease of property, you would need to so in early May, but be careful to avoid May 5 plus or minus one day. You can do other things on May 5 plus or minus one day, such as to stage talks or present ideas. Try your best to push things to May 10 to 13.

You need to be very focused this month and make sure you act on your best days. Once Venus retrogrades, May 15 to June 27, you will find it harder to get ahead professionally. Venus is the natural ruler of your solar tenth house of fame and honors, and with Venus catching up on her beauty sleep at that time, you will find the sledding tougher, and your golden edge will pass. During the first two weeks of May, in contrast, you will have no obstacles, so seek out that top position while things are so extraordinarily special. You will find that VIPs will be very interested in you and your causes, and they will be willing to go out of their way to help you get ahead.

Actually, May 5 is interesting for another reason - a home living situation or family matter is about to bring you closure, thanks to a full moon occurring on that day. This full moon will fall in Scorpio at 16 degrees and light your house of home, so alternatively, if you are not finishing up a move, renovation, or other home-related matter, you may be thinking about a relative, most likely a parent who needs your quick attention. With Mars in agreement with this full moon, and Pluto too, you will have a rare ability to find a good solution. Pluto and Mars are the double rulers of Scorpio, and with both in such harmony, this full moon will have much more clout.

Venus RULES your house of career but is now in Gemini, RESIDING IN your house of friendship. This suggests that a friend may not help you as much as she or he had promised to do, leaving you in limbo until you and your friend can meet and find out what happened. You can sort this out - by the end of June you could be on the same page again.

The area of friendship will come up again, this time in a lovely way, when the solar eclipse comes by on May 20. This will be a VERY friendly eclipse and open up a whole new portal for you. The area of gain involves your friendships and groups you may belong to, and this month, and in months ahead, you will see a big increase in the people coming into your life, and the refreshing influence they have on you. This new moon solar eclipse will be pure joy and bring a feeling of freshness to your life.

You are the only sign ruled by the Sun, so solar eclipses are always more important for you than for others. Take full advantage of this eclipse by being open to meeting new people and by following up by extending an offer to meet for lunch for any new contacts that you'd like to cultivate. If you were thinking of joining a club, this is the time to send your application, after May 20. Consider, too, the idea of getting more involved with social media.

An eclipse is so much more than a normal new or full moon - it carries the weight of three rolled into one. You likely can't see the benefits of reaching out to others now, but in time you will see the benefits. When an eclipse brings something, you can be sure a theme is at play that is very important.

What makes this eclipse so special is that Jupiter will be within five degrees, and therefore be in conjunction, sending buckets of good fortune. It also will get enormous help from Uranus, in Aries, in your ninth house of foreign people and places, so you may get a surprise communication from a friend or contact abroad. This also suggests you may be traveling shortly after this eclipse of May 20, and in the months to come.

If your birthday falls on July 22, or within five days of this date, you will benefit the most from the solar eclipse. Also, if you have any planets in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, or Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius at 0 to 4 degrees, you will also have that planet touched by the eclipse and it will also bring you gifts. When it comes to finances, Mars is still in Virgo, a holdover from mid-November. Month after month, you've had very high expenses, and no matter how hard you worked to bring in more money, the outflow was high. Even if you make a very generous salary, someone or something has been causing you to spend at unusually high levels. So far, you've come though almost six months of high spending, and you still have to get to the end of June before this trend will abate. Still, you have some excellent developments due in your career this month, so you should stay optimistic and go out and look for a dragon to slay.

You will have an excellent time to negotiate a fee or salary near your luckiest days of the year at mid-month, especially on May 10, 11, and 12. Jupiter is the natural ruler of your creative sector, and at that time, Jupiter will be meeting with the Sun, so you may be able to sell a creative idea. As I mentioned earlier, the Sun will be in your house of fame, so you have a direct link between money (indicated by Jupiter), creativity, and your rising career status. Sometimes we get a promotion without much more money, or more money without a promotion, but this time, your stars are about to align and you can now get the best of both worlds. Make sure you make an initiation in early May so that things can come together by mid-month. Nothing will happen by itself, so you will have to provide the elbow grease, but if you do, you will see such encouraging results!

Look for good news about money on Monday, May 21, the day after the solar eclipse, when Mercury will conjoin Jupiter, an annual event that won't happen again until a year from now, in 2013. Mercury rules your house of salary, and it is also the planet of news - bingo. This would not be money won, but money earned, so enjoy all that happens now, dear Leo! It may be that a friend is the one who recommends you or in other ways is involved with your good fortune.

With so much career and money discussions swirling around you in May, I bet you will want a little vacation by month's end. Uranus will be very active, so you may decide to spontaneously head to the airport for the weekend of May 25-28. Mercury, the travel planet, in Gemini, Mercury's sign, will send a missive to Uranus, now in your house of long distance travel. I am sitting here wondering how you could possibly stay home under such glowing aspects! Wait, there is more - you are ruled by the Sun, and Uranus will send a cheery hello to the Sun on May 28, so you may be off to a new locale, very unexpectedly.

Romantically, all the good news that is going on this month should give you so much good news about career and money that you will be exuding a glow that will surely make you very attractive to others. If you are attached, the travel I mentioned above will fan the fires of passion. While the first two weeks will center your attention on career, and mid-month, money too, as you get to month's end, life will take on a certain luster and you will have a chance to kick back and have fun.

You have many days when I feel you'll enjoy life the most, and I feel those will be over May 12-13, and over May 26-28. In the United States, May 26-28 coincidentally is the Memorial Day weekend, a popular holiday to travel. You are about to have one of the best weekends of any of the signs!

Summary

You've worked long and hard, and now you get the career adoration and acclaim you so rightly deserve. When mighty Jupiter, the good fortune planet, aligns with the Sun, your ruling star, in your fame and honors sector on May 12-13, for the first time in twelve years, you'll be able to score a victory to trump all previous victories. Watch the meetings and developments that come up in the days leading to this alignment, May 10 to 11, and perhaps a day earlier. By all means, keep the champagne on ice.

Financially, your negotiation power will be high, so don't be shy about naming your due. One project that you are working on as the month opens will go well, and as you finish it, allow you to clearly establish your worth. A lucrative fee should be agreed upon by mid-month, proving to you how far you've come, and demonstrating to you, once and for all, that the tide has turned in your favor.ÿ

Make sure to wrap up all career talks and deals on or just prior to May 12, because shortly thereafter, from May 15, Venus, the ruler of your solar tenth house of career status, will retrograde, and you'll encounter several snags and indecisive executives. Progress will become maddeningly slow, and you may even have to backtrack on certain talks or projects, until Venus goes direct again, after June 27.

You also seem ready to come to a conclusion about a residential or property matter on May 5, plus or minus five days. It's an exciting time, and your ability to visualize a beautiful home - and then actualize all that you imagine - will be at an all-time high. Dive in, for near May 5, your energy to complete your plan will be unrivaled. Alternatively, you may be thinking about one of your parents' welfare, and again, you will have the green light to finalize plans for that person you love so much.

Later, your social life will become very active, thanks to the friendly new moon solar eclipse in the double sign of Gemini on May 20. This is sure to bring at least two exciting evening invitations that will have you stepping out in style. Be open to making at least one new friend in the socializing you do. In weeks ahead, new friends and acquaintances will invigorate your life by bringing dazzling opportunities you would never have encountered on your own. Social networking will also play a part in your success in late month, so tweet up a storm - several will be listening and responding warmly to all that you will have to say.

Love might be bright in late May too, and is likely to be with someone who has caught your eye at the office, and that person could very likely be a higher up you'll be working closely with at the time. Go slowly, dear Leo - see how things play out.

When Jupiter moves into Gemini for a year's stay next month, romance won't be as strongly linked to your career and will shift to those you meet at gatherings and through the introduction of good friends. With the sands on which you stand about to shift, all indications in your chart show you may want to practice playing hard to get. Whether you are a girl or a guy, be confident. If single, play the field without being too eager to get an exclusive arrangement from your partner. If you are already attached, a spontaneous overseas journey taken in the last weekend of May could turn out to revitalize love in stunning ways that will warm your heart.

Much More Than About Just 2012

I am so excited! My book is finally done and is chock full of information about the planets, the eclipses, the Mayan Calendar (all about December 21, 2012), and much, much, more for this year PLUS years into the future. I am concerned that you will assume my book is only about 2012, but it is far, far more than that!

This year is very different from previous years in that several of the powerful outer planets either had either just recently changed signs, or are about to do so. Neptune moved into Pisces this February, and will remain in this sign for fourteen years. Uranus, newly based in Aries as of March 2011, is set to stay another seven years, until March 2019. Next month, Jupiter will move into Gemini until June 2013, and that will be a game changer as well.

Perhaps the most dramatic planetary shift will be the one Saturn will make in October 2012 when it moves to Scorpio, to stay until September 2015. Pluto, of course, will continue on his mission to change our relationship to money, a goal he started in 2008 and that Pluto will work on through 2024.

With all these planets playing musical chairs, I realized this is to be a pivotal year, with many new influences and adjustments. I have an essay up front on the dispute Pluto will have with Uranus this year, continuing into March 2015. There was much to say. My book has 640 pages.

I added bonus chapters, too! One chapter, as said, is devoted entirely to the Mayan Calendar, and what the world might expect at its end, on December 21, 2012. Another chapter is devoted to the whole discussion of the Precession of the Equinoxes and whether there really is a 13th (or even 14th sign). (If you recall, this topic hit the airwaves last year, but actually dates back to 130 BC when the Greek mathematician, astronomer and astrologer, Hipparchus of Nicaea, correctly discovered it. There is an entire chapter devoted to the move of Neptune in Pisces for the first time since 1847 - 1862 and why Neptune's new placement bodes so well for us in terms of the way we will date and mate in the future.
